We have an opportunity for an IT Manager working in the Technology & Operations Department.

The IT Manager will work cross-functionally and be involved in the definition, prioritization and support of key IT initiatives while ensuring the day-to-day integrity of our IT operations. The successful candidate will be interested in being technically hands on while engaging regularly with fairly sophisticated users. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations, the main responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:

• Managing and administering essential IT operations and systems including servers, networked storage, networking equipment, connections to outside services, server room infrastructure, laptops, desktops, software and hardware
• Managing and selecting vendor and partner relationships, including providers of IT and network support services
• Supporting staff with home offices to ensure optimal user experience
• First line IT troubleshooting and technical support
• Enhancing, maintaining and testing business continuity preparedness and disaster recovery infrastructure, including managing backups of data and virtual machines
• Overseeing and determining timeframes and cost benefit analyses for IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
• Developing and maintaining IT and Information Security governance, compliance programs, frameworks, policies and audit control
• Testing server and network performance and providing statistics and reports; developing strategies for maintaining server infrastructure
• Tracking and analyzing current systems, assets, licenses and warranties for vendor audits and internal planning
• Developing training materials and procedures, and/or training users in the proper use of hardware and software
• Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning (workshop attendance, networking, professional associations) and researching and evaluating emerging technologies

Qualifications:

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience in IT management in a secure, remote and/or distributed environment
• Excellent English verbal and written communications skills
• Excellent working and technical knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, data storage systems and telecommunication systems
• Superb soft skills with the ability to communicate and establish trust with staff at all levels
• Expertise in Microsoft Networking (AD/DHCP), Windows and Office
Knowledge and practical experience managing IT/Cyber security including firewalls, intruder detection systems, anti-malware, Internet access controls, e-mail filters and other security related tools
• Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
• Experience managing IT contractors and suppliers
• Extremely curious, enjoys asking questions, and has a proven ability to come up with creative solutions to difficult problems

Assets (preferred but not required):

• VMWare Experience including ESXi and vCenter management
• Experience with the management of hybrid IT infrastructure (i.e. combination of on premise, private cloud and public cloud solutions)
• Experience in successfully transitioning on premise IT infrastructure to hybrid or cloud (Public and Private) based solutions
• Cloud Certification with a major public cloud provider such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and/or Google Cloud Platform
• HP Systems experience including iLO and Smart Storage Administrator
• Experience working in the financial investment industry
• SQL Experience
