The investment strategies are purposely designed to complement core/index products by focusing on distinct ranges of risk and return not correlated with the majority of equity products offered for sale in Canada.

The investment strategies are based on a proprietary investment platform that uses a dynamic, fundamental based, multi-factor approach to stock selection and portfolio construction. In addition, Hillsdale can build equity products to 'spec' and is fully capable of providing customized portfolios that meet very specific client objectives, such as, risk-adjusted return, style biases, beta tolerances, or draw-down maximums.

Hillsdale currently has a staff of thirty, which includes eighteen professionals with backgrounds in investment management, mathematics, biomedicine, physics, computer engineering, risk management, trading, technical analysis, internal audit, accounting, marketing, compliance and finance. Six of the staff currently hold the CFA designation.

The firm, founded in 1996, is majority owned by its employees and is an Investment Counsel, Portfolio Manager and a Limited Market Dealer.
